Platinum song #89525 / #24525

This should be episode 3 had I double-checked my Platinum song list. But hey, better late than never.
Yuu Yuu Hakusho was the series (that wasn’t Dragon Ball Z) that defined shounen anime in the Philippines. (We didn’t get Saint Seiya like Latin American countries.) The Tagalog dub was so influential that many of us still refer to the series as Ghost Fighter, and the characters by their local names - Eugene for Yusuke, Alfred for Kuwabara, Vincent for Hiei, Dennis for Kurama, and so on.
Shown in IBC 13, it faced some competition in the form of another genre defining series, the telenovela Marimar. Like DBZ, it wasn’t completed in the original channel but was picked up later by GMA 7.
Hohoemi no Bakudan is another iconic song that everyone knows… until they hit the second, non-anime verse. Still, it’s a somewhat easy song once you get the timing correct.
Being from the south, Makati malls like SM Makati and Greenbelt were our go-to malls before the turn of the millenium. Glorietta was formerly known as Quad back then, when the area was clearly split into 4 parts, with them slowly being built from Quad 1-4. I’ve spent a lot of my elementary and high school days in Glorietta arcades (especially after SM Makati’s acrades were downsized and closed) making this the perfect place to sing this song from my youth.
